ThePirateBay is back

-----------------------------------

THE P2P site ThePirateBay is back from the dead,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> despite claims from various anti-piracy groups that it had been sunk.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
The site went back online on Saturday at 6:07PM Eastern Standard Time,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> and already seems to be a bit busy,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> probably because it is not running at full capacity again.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
It is not clear if any of the smaller businesses that were also using the same ISP are back online.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> The last email we received from GameSwitch,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> that outfit was still offline,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> probably because Inspector Knacker of the Swedish yard had confiscated most of its hardware.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
The shut-down is getting considerable press attention in Sweden after one of the research news shows <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>'Rapport'<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> has indicated that the shut down appeared to have had the involvement of the White House.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
The story was corroborated by Svenska Dagbladet which is one of the most cautious and careful of the Swedish dailies.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
This led 500 people taking to the streets in a demonstration here.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>

<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
ALSO <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>:<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
Sweden's self confessed daddy of BitTorrent has revealed that if the findings of an ongoing legal fiasco deem The Pirate Bay legal,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> the site's owners can claim compensation from the Swedish state.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
The popular tracker claims to have not been breaking any of Sweden's laws before it was subject to raids on Thursday by the Swedish police force.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> Hackers retaliated by attacking the Swedish police website with a denial of service <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>(DoS)<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> attack a day later.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
The hackers also unleashed their anger on Sony BMG and Warner Music's regional sites,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> allies to anti-filesharing devotees such as the Record Industry Association of America <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>(RIAA)<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> and Motion Picture Association of America <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>(MPAA)<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
Despite Sweden's anti-filesharing group Antipiratbyran being accused of misleading the police,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> a Swedish legal expert has deemed the site's threat of compensation as being <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>"silly"<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
Regardless,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> it seems it's back to business as usual at The Pirate Bay.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>

Re: ThePirateBay is back

-----------------------------------

Just a couple a weeks ago,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> it appeared like another victory for the movie industry after the Swedish police brought down The Pirate Bay,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> with 50 police raiding some 200 servers and arresting 3 people.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> A couple of days later,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> the three were released and The Pirate Bay made its return back online by travelling to a hosting provider in the Netherlands.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
Now their ship has sailed back home to Sweden,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> returning to their former provider <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>"PRQ"<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> going by their IP information.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> It also did not take long for the Dutch anti-piracy organisation BREIN to start threatening the hosting provider The Pirate Bay used in the Netherlands,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> but it looks like it is too late for them as the Site no longer appears hosted there.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> <b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> According to The Pirate Bay,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> they plan on spreading their site to various locations across the world,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> not only to improve its speed,<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b> but to make it even more difficult to shut down.<b style="color:#FFA34F"></b>
